(SC) April 18 - College of Charleston Movie Night

The Cougar Activities Board at the College of Charleston requested our presence for their recurring movie night as they showed The Force Awakens, outdoors at the historic cistern on a big inflatable screen. Typically they provide food and a movie for students, but since the president of the college, Glenn McConnell revealed that he is a huge fan of Star Wars, the activities board decided to make this more of an event. The whole courtyard was decorated with BB-8 balloons and standees of all the new characters. There was a ton of food and drinks: burgers, chips, sandwiches, brownies, cake.
They had tons of prizes to raffle off before the movie, including the standees. Before the raffle, they gave away much better prizes for competitions. They had a bunch of the tiny Lego starship sets and held races to see who could build them fastest. Those 3 winners got Star Wars Snuggies. Then President McConnell judged a Chewbacca voice impression contest. The winner of that got a Sphero remote control BB-8!
Our two Biker Scouts TB11110 and TB11701 stood guard over the food area, occasionally taking photos with fans who weren't too cool to do so. We fended off lightsaber attacks (the activities board bought many of those generic "laser swords" you can find at Walmart) for a while. We even took a few pictures with President McConnell who seemed more excited to see us than any of the students. The scouts took a seat for the movie, but due to other imperial business, had to quietly exit around the time Han Solo came on screen. I swear we weren't scared of him at all! You could hear the movie a block away and we really wish we could have stayed for the whole thing.
