(NC) June 25 Kannapolis Intimidators SW Night (Kannapolis)
Posted: Wed Jun 29, 2016 2:02 pm
Date:
June 25th, 2016
Location:
Kannapolis Intimidators Stadium
Kannapolis NC
Description of Event (Please share as much info as you can):
Over 4,900 were in attendance at the Star Wars night for the Intimidators and the crowd was stoked for Star Wars! Custom t-shirts, costumes, and tons of kids were on hand to celebrate the Star Wars night at the stadium. The first 100 kids received a pretty nice light saber, which can be seen in some of the photos of the night. The weather was a bit hot, but bright sunshine was present throughout the game until sunset. Only 2 members and 1 handler were on hand to handle the large crowd, but we didn't run into any issues with fans (only long waiting lines for photos.) We arrived around 5pm, and trooped from 6pm-8:30pm. The team supplied a conference suite with plenty of room for changing and lots of bottled water. After the troop, they provided vouchers for a free hot dog, chips, and a drink from the concessions. Everyone had a great time and some excellent photos were taken. I want to make sure we get a big crowd for them next time! Good stuff!
Did this event support a charity? If yes, which charity?:
The team had made custom Star Wars jerseys that were sold in silent auction to raise money for the Cabarrus County Education Foundation.
There were $3,000 dollars raised for this foundation with the auction sales.
Event Length (Hours):
Arrived at 5pm.
Troop from 6-8:30. Aprox. 2.5 hours.
