The Carolina Garrison was invited back to SciWorks for our second event of the year. SciWorks, a hands-on science center, allows kids and adults to learn more about Science through interactive exhibits, a planetarium, and an Environmental & Science Park! SciWorks was having a merger celebration. SciWorks of Winston Salem announced that they will be joining forces with the children's museum of Winston Salem and they will both be moving to a new building in downtown Winston Salem. The garrison was on hand to greet attendees and pose for pictures. SciWorks was very happy with attendance as 540 patrons came out for this special event. This marked Tyler Fosters first official troop and what a great event for him to be his first. We met Tyler back in April at the first SciWorks troop. Tyler works at SciWorks. Now A Carolina Garrison member Tyler was on the other side of the desk and trooping with us. We also had a Carolina Garrison member, Adam Jones come to the event as part of his work as well. Adam Jones is a Winston Salem fireman and he and his station brought out a firetruck for the celebration. He also had his Sandtrooper helmet so we were able to grab a picture with him and the firetruck. After the troop we headed over to HWY 55 diner for a post trooper dinner. It was a great troop and SciWorks treats us well. I'm sure we will have more events at SciWorks in the future.

I love trooping SciWorks. So much fun and such a great group of troopers!

Great write-up and great pictures. Everyone looking top notch. That new backdrop looks amazing too. I want to eventually get one myself

Always a good time trooping at SciWorks. It's a very family-friendly place. Having Tyler in the CG now means we have an insider there! He made a fantastic Jawa, scavenging for iPhones, cameras, broken droids...(just kidding...he made sure we had creature comforts like water). Seeing Adam pull out his Sandtrooper bucket out of an operational firetruck was my personal favorite moment. It was really a great day with great people. That's what it's all about. That's why we do this.

What a first troop!!! I had such an amazing time and I loved this being my first official troop!! It was awesome and all of the SciWorks staff send their biggest thanks and continue to give me compliments to pass on to everyone for how well we all did!! The visitors loved it too. It was great seeing their smiles and even some scared ones who eventually warmed up haha. Can't wait to do my next troop!!
