Date: August 18, 2016

Location: MUSC Children's Hospital (Atrium)

Description of Event (Please share as much info as you can):
This was a very positive event. There were four of us there (Stormtrooper, Biker Scout, Imperials Reserve Tie-Pilot, and Rebel X-Wing Pilot). We brought some blasters and goody bags were handed out to the patients. The patients rangeg from 2 years old to 16. For the children that could attend, they would come in a little aprehensive at first. However, they would warm up to us after a little while.

Met alot of amazing children, parents, nurses, and volunteers. A lot of pictures were taken and high fives were given. There were children that due to the level of their sickness could not come into the room. You could see them watching us from windows on 3 levels. There was one child fighting cancer who was in an room on the first floor that we were able to walk up to the window and wave back and forth. It was very moving.

All in all, I feel it was a good event and meant a lot to the children. The parents, nurses, and volunteers seemed to also really enjoy it. Taylor, Joe, and Brad did excellent and it was good to have some experienced troopers with me on my 2nd event. I thank them for taking the time to come and bring a smile to the faces of the children.

We are going to try to return in November.

You guys made us proud. These hospital visits are so meaningful and heart-breaking at the same time. I hate the fact that children of all ages have to end up staying for periods of time for various ailments but I know even if they smiled and you guys took their minds off of the reason they were there for just a few moments, I know that it made their day. I hope to be able to attend the next one.

Great report! And great work planning this event. You did a great job with all of the logistics and contacts to make this happen.
