Description of Event:
His Excellency of Weirdness and Nerd-dom - Weird Al - requested our presence the the Cape Fear Performing Arts Center to a near sold out capacity. We met in our designated dressing room, had rehearsals on stage with "Hawkeye" Weird Al's stage manager and then retired to the auditorium to await our call time. Around 8:00 we began dressing for the show and met at the Stage Left door to await our mission. Escorted to the stage by Hawkeye, we were the encore back up for Al and the band, "dancing" to "We All Have Cell Phones" and "The Saga Begins". Following the show we met to entertain the VIP Fans as we awaited Al to arrive for photos with them. Once complete, we had a meet and greet with Al, took photos, and suited down and traveled home. It was a great audience, amazing show and our stage presence turned out as awesome as I expected. Non-501st Members may be cool - but they'll never be "Dancing on Stage with Weird Al dressed as a screen accurate Star Wars Villain to The Saga Begins Cool"...

Great job. Looks like a good turn-out

Had a great time and got to meet some fellow members. Not much can outdo this event, Weird Al on stage come on now!!!!! Glad my daughter came along to hang out always fun having her with me. She had finally decided to join the 501st in December! Thanks to everyone who took photos they look great! Had a lot of fun can't wait to hit Fayetteville coming up.

If anyone has an extra Al patch, please let me know. The two Wilmington troopers only have to share between us. We had to leave before they were handed out. Thanks Bill for getting us one. Thanks! -Mark

The handlers got patches in Columbia. Was that not the case this time?

When I went back in to get them from the VIP guy, he asked how many people I had that performed on stage. I told him nine - and then one of the other staff chimed in and said, "they had 9 people performing - he needs 9 patches". They also acted a bit bewildered and said, "we tried to give them to you guys but you had all left. " - but there were still 3 people in the dressing room...

The patch I gave you at the Boy Scout Event on Saturday was for you. Why did you give it to Carlton?

I was one of the last ones in the dressing room and no one from Al's staff came in there.

I was just curious. I got one in Columbia so I'm not too upset about it.

Jeff, just hang on to one for me. I'm sure we'll cross paths again before too long. Thanks for taking lead on the event!
