October 1st, 2016
10:00am-4:00pm
Location:
Hilton Greenville
45 Orchard Park Drive
Greenville, SC 29615
Description of Event (Please share as much info as you can):
We arrived shortly after 10:00 and dressed in the parking lot. We went inside and were greeted by the event staff, all wide-eyed and starstruck by our appearance. We hung out in the lobby for a while taking pictures. We met the event organizer, Austin Bell, who was super excited that we were there. The event staff tagged my blaster with a zip tie to show that it was just a prop and we went into the convention. It was staged in four meeting rooms with the partitions removed. The vendors were at tables around the room and down the center. It was difficult to navigate through the crowd in armor, but we managed to make it to the far side of the room where there was a small empty space. We stayed there for a while and took pictures. All the vendors wanted a picture, too. One vendor talked to us about wanting to make a commercial for his store. Before we left, we talked with Austin again. He was super appreciative that the Legion was there. He said he had received many good comments from attendees and vendors about us. His first annual convention seemed to be a great success. I think next year, he will be looking for a bigger venue.
