Date:
October 16, 2016

Location:
Park West Recreation Complex
Mount Pleasant, South Carolina

Description of Event (Please share as much info as you can):
This was the 29th Annual Town of Mount Pleasant Children's Day Festival. The event was very large and is the most popular event put on by the Town every year.

Over 5,000 people attended this event.

East Cooper schools hosted carnival games and families enjoyed carnival rides, enormous inflatable slides, live entertainment, wall climbing, face painting and many other activities! Admission and all activities were free. Free parking is available at Cario Middle School and Charles Pinckney/Laurel Hill - shuttles run all day or simply use the cut-through and enjoy a nice short walk! Food concessions are offered by East Cooper schools for fundraising.

We set up 2 tents in the Thrill Zone. Rusty brought the main 501st tent with Death Start Backdrop, table, table covers, etc.. Chris Gould brought the big carbonite Stormtrooper and everyone else brought miscellaneous items. Event went well. it became hot and we did start to wear out towards the end. Next year we will probably have shifts.

Took alot of pictures and the action was non-stop for 5 hours.

Next year, we will push hard for the Make-A-Wish Foundation. I already have some ideas on this.

Did this event support a charity? If yes, which charity?:
The entire event was a fundraiser for East Cooper Hospital. We put out the Make-A-Wish donation box.

Event Length (Hours):
6 (inlcuding setup)

Direct Funds Raised? (Money raised directly by the Carolina Garrison):
$48.00 (Next year we will have someone specifically in charge of taking donations)

Carolina Garrison Members in Attendance:

1. Shawn Cantey (HWT)
2. Ryder Cantey (Kid Scouttrooper)
3. Stuart Eaker (ESB TK)
4. Rusty Meyers (ESB TK)
5. Jon Meyers (ESB TK)

Handlers:
1. Ellen Meyers
2. Brooklyn Cantey

Crossover Attendees from the Rebel Legion / R2 Builders Club / Mando Mercs:
1. Natasha Cox (Mando Merc)
2. Chris Gould (Mando Merc)

Great work. Sounds like a fun event. 2 events in a row. I know you all were tired by the end of the weekend

I'm in contact for a HUGE upcoming event in March in Downtown Charleston because of the appearance at this event.

We were all worn out by the end of this event. Everyone started dropping like flies.

Can't wait to hear about the event in March  8)

You guys got dressed at the tent. Natasha and I put on armor at the cars and walked a mile like that. If I had known we'd have two tents, I would have brought some fabric to make us a little changing area. I also didn't think about needing food/water there. That was rough.

Thoughts for next year if we're invited again: ask for electricity. A couple of fans more powerful than the battery operated ones would have made this much easier. Remind troopers that someone should bring a cooler and water. I know you guys all beat me there, but I gotta remember to set up early. Not having a place to change, I had to put up the carbonite while in armor. That was tricky.

Just checking before I share the photos to the mercs for our invasion report. That cool with you guys who "own" them? I assume they're mostly Shawn's, right?
