Description of Event (Please share as much info as you can):
Brenners Children's Hospital had the Carolina Garrison out for a second annual visit. The hospital agreeded to have us at the last minute right before the release of Rogue One. Before the visit with the children, we got to visit with an adult patient named Vinnie. VInnie is a big Star Wars fan and was a victim of a brutal beating while playing Pokemon late one night. If was great to visit with him and Brian Dudas even brought him a gift from the Garrison. We met with several children in a large lobby. After our visit in the lobby, we split up into two groups and went around to different floors to visit children's rooms and members of the staff. The Patient life staff did a great job guiding us around and took us to the preemie baby area where the explained we were therapy for the parents. They also took us to the children's ICU area were the had us provide therapy for the staff, which has had a rough time this year. When visiting a children's hospital I simply thought we were there to visit and bring joy to the Children, however this trip really helped open our eyes. After the troop we headed to Moes forlunch. It was a great troop and we hope they have us back next year.
