(NC) Oct. 7 Riverfest (Wilmington)

Description of Event (Please share as much info as you can):
Riverfest was created in February 1979, by a group of Wilmingtonians interested in showcasing downtown Wilmington and the Cape Fear river and has since resulted in a cultural street festival that entices locals and tourists alike to the amazing Historic Downtown. The festival offers visitors a chance to enjoy live entertainment, craft and food vendors and more. The event is free and open to the public.
Several 501st members and some friends decided at the last minute to attend and spread goodwill and do some recruiting. One of our CG members has attended each years and asked that more of us join him.
The day has extremely hot and humid but by the river there was a refreshing breeze. We were not able to move very far or very fast due to the hundreds of picture requests we had. We made a point to visit the Boy Scouts. We were able to circle around several blocks over the 4 hours in armor. We changed in the parking deck and used the elevator which made for some surprised faces on people each time.

Over 250,000 people jammed the downtown streets of Wilmington. Going anywhere was very slow!
New recruits said they didn't need blasters? Must be Force users.
Kids. They love balloons almost as much as Star Wars.
This sector is under Imperial control. Move along.
Scouts are always prepared....to try to take your weapons and sell you popcorn.
Reports of stolen droids at the Post Office were negative. Just a bunch of people wanting pictures (example shown)
REPLACING A RIVET WITH A TIRE IRON IS A 501st SKILL!!!!!
Even though we had helmets, they wouldn't let us ride! BMX Stuunt Show was second in popularity to us.
Robert made the news on WECT (NBC).
