(SC) Dec 3 - Greer Christmas Parade (Greer)

Poinsett Street Greer, South Carolina.
Description of Event (Please share as much info as you can):
-The Carolina Garrison and Blue Ridge Base attended the Greer's annual Christmas Parade facilitated by Greer Relief, a local nonprofit that has been in service for over 80 years helping prevent hunger and homelessness in the Greater Greer area.
We were hosted by the owner of Wild Ace(Chris aka Field Marshal(Face Book) )(pizza & beer) in a Pre-staging.
Wild Ace providing us a place to change and some amazing food with drink at no cost.
-501st was one of the biggest highlights according to Greer Relief and Greer News... The Kids all loved Darth Vader!
Darth Vader (Kirk Deweil) recruited many new yonglings as his apprentices.
This was also Jayson Bocook (TK-99143) first troop with Carolina Garrison as his ANH-Storm Trooper- and he loved it!!
Our Group also raised gifts for a young girl named Grace on the 501st Fourm page who needs a christmas

Like many in Florida, Grace's family has been impacted by hurricane Irma and the amount of damage to their home is equaling a not so festive holiday season for their family. Mom wanted Grace to have the best holiday she can possibly have.
Grace is a super star wars fan. I will share a quote from her mother. "She is 15 years old and still believes in Santa. She is homeschooled and LOOOOOOOOOVES Star Wars and everything about it. Her favorite characters are Rey and BB-8. She believes she's a Jedi and carries two light sabers with her every chance she gets. She is anxiously awaiting the release of the new movie."
---The Upstate members in both legions all helped out and brought gifts for this amazing girl so she could have a memorable holiday.
***On 12/04/2017- Matthew Cohen (Shock Trooper-TK-10835) boxed up and shipped all the gifts to Grace. ***
Did this event support a charity? If yes, which charity?: Yes - Greer Relief and We collected toys for a little girl who was listed on the 501st Legion form page who needs a christmas
