(SC) Feb 2 Charleston Stingrays Game (N Charleston)

Description of Event:
The Stingrays hockey team held a Star Wars themed game against Orlando's Solar Bears. The game started with a dark arena lit only by the branded light sabers given to the first 2,000 fans thru the door. Our garrison escorted a representative from Charleston's Habitat for Humanity to the ice for the ceremonial puck drop. Then we posed for photos between periods of play. During the first intermission, our biker scout lost a tricycle race on the ice to an excited teenage fan (who probably cheated or something, come on). Most of the garrison members in attendance rode the fan zamboni around the ice for the 2nd intermission. Fans of hockey and Star Wars were excited to get the chance to interact with both. The Stingrays won the game 6-2. Attendance for the game was 4,353.

Yes, Darth Vader jerseys customized with the name of each of the team's players were auctioned off with proceeds going to Habitat for Humanity
